“Mens sana in corpore sano.”

A healthy mind in a healthy body.

This is a goal we all share. The foundation is an adequate level of strength, endurance, coordination, and speed. As we age, our capacity for compensation decreases. Consequently, it becomes increasingly important to reduce compensatory strategies and systematically develop our actual abilities.

This is where we come in—not by standing next to you as a personal trainer in every single session, but by providing help for self-help.

What Is Functional Training?

Functional training means that we analyze your individual strengths and weaknesses. Is your body’s biomechanics functioning efficiently?Where are existing problems, weaknesses, or potential risk factors?

These insights are then translated into targeted exercises (strength, coordination, speed). We practice them together and create instructional videos, enabling you to pursue your goals independently and safely in the long term.

Diagnostics - Training - Success

As in neuro training, we follow this simple and effective strategy.

In a workshop setting, the first step is a thorough analysis of your current state. Pain, postural deficits, functional limitations, or goals you have not yet been able to achieve serve as initial indicators.

The second step is implementation. We place great emphasis on meeting you exactly where you are right now. What matters to us is that you learn what you can realistically apply in your own training environment. No pseudo-specialized equipment—biomechanical understanding is what makes training effective.

At your own pace, we practice the exercises you need until you master them and can perform them confidently, without fear of self-injury. To support retention and transfer, we record short videos that help you recall the exercises until they become second nature.

As always, the focus is on addressing the cause, not merely the symptoms.

Advantages of Functional Training as a Workshop

Functional training in a workshop format offers numerous advantages—physically, performance-related, and economically.

Knowledge Transfer Instead of Guru Dependency

Our goal is not to mystify our expertise. We want you to understand your own body. Once the relationships between a problem, biomechanics, and function become clear, it becomes much easier to train precisely and purposefully.

Independence

Through structured knowledge transfer, you gain confidence in training, in interpreting your body’s signals, and in responding to them autonomously. Teaching training means that after every session, you leave more competent than when you arrived.

Cost-Effective and Sustainable

A workshop may require an initial investment. However, compared to long-term personal training (e.g., twice per week), it is a highly efficient and sustainable solution. You learn to understand and regulate your body independently—an investment that pays off over time.

Conclusion

Many of our clients use us for “updates” or to navigate challenging phases on their path toward healthy aging. In the same way, we can be your long-term point of contact for questions related to your body—guiding and educating you to age healthily and sustainably in harmony with your own physiology.
